چکیده
The oil seed sectors one of the fastest growing in Ethiopia, both terms its foreign exchange earnings and as a source income for millions Ethiopians. Oilseed crops are recognized to be potentially suitable substrate production aflatoxins by aflatoxigenic fungi. This study intended evaluate knowledge, attitude practice sesame exporters about contamination, characterize determine level aflatoxins, from export standard white red Humera Wollega seeds. Twenty seven ready samples were collected Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX) warehouse. Thousand weight, moisture, crude fat peroxide value determined according AOAC. Aflatoxin B1, B2, G1, G2 total at ng/g SupelTM Tox Aflazea cartridge clean up reversed-phase liquid chromatography. weight range 2.89-3.22 g/1000 seeds, moisture is 3.33-4.99%, 46.75-57.75% 2-8.2 meq/Kg. detected 1.32 - 2.12 ng/g, 1.52-31.98 16.2-48.28 0.56-9.04 0.44-64.96 respectively. contamination seeds could ruin oilseed thus decrease revenues state.

متن کاملChanges in the Metabolism of Lipids and Carbohydrates during Germination of Sesame (sesamum Indicum L.) Seeds
The levels of lipids, carbohydrates and enzymes concerned with their breakdown were determined in sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) seeds during an 8-days period of germination. Alkaline lipase and isocitrate lyase activities were at peak level when the lipid mobilization was highest. The content of total soluble carbohydrates, reducing and nonreducing sugars, increased during the initial 5-days peri...

The objective of this paper was to evaluate the effect of nitric oxide (NO) as a protecting agent of sesame seeds submitted to different concentrations of cadmium. The treatments were: water (control), water increased by sodium nitroprusside (SNP) and other treatments regarding the concentrations of cadmium increased by SNP. The following determinations were done: germination, first count of ge...

Aflatoxin contamination of nuts is an increasing concern to the consumer's health. Portugal is a big producer of almonds, but there is no scientific knowledge on the safety of those nuts, in terms of mycotoxins. The aim of this paper was to study the incidence of aflatoxigenic fungi and aflatoxin contamination of 21 samples of Portuguese almonds, and its evolution throughout the various stages ...
